Heaven, just the mention of it conjures vivid imaginations and tremendous anticipation.  Heaven is a place of perfect rest, peace, and beauty.  Heaven is a place free from fear, pain, suffering, sin, and sorrow.   Heaven is a place as real as the room your in right now.  The bible mentions much about this place called heaven, yet it conceals even more.  We know the eye has never seen, and the mind has never conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him (1Corinthians 2:9).  We know the promise that Heaven has been prepared for us.   We know that all people have the opportunity to reserve a space in Heaven.   And we know which road leads to Heaven.

Jesus said "...strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life...".   He also said "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)  You see, getting to Heaven is not about religion.  There is not a Baptist way, a Catholic way, a Lutheran way, a Methodist way, or a Mormon way.  There is but one way, God's way.  Jesus said it like this "verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he can not see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3).  The door of Heaven is not opened by religion, but by a relationship with Christ.

So, how do we establish a relationship with Christ?  The word of God explains it clearly...

First, we must realize that God loves us!  Jesus said "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Secondly, we must realize that all of us have sinned.  It's not easy to admit that we have sinned, however, God's word says "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (James 2:10)  It also says "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" and "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:10, 23).  We can be good people, leading good lives, but good people still sin.  When we realize that we have sinned we can accept the fact that there is a penalty for our sin.  Our sin earns us a wage, much like our employment causes us to earn a wage.  Only "the wages of sin is death..." ( Romans 3:23) and the penalty is eternity in the literal place, hell.   Revelation 20:15 tells us who will spend eternity in hell, "...whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."  So the question must be asked, how do I get my name written in the book of life?

The answer is simple, we realize that Jesus died to pay for our sins.  Most people know the story of Jesus.  Yet we don't grasp the fact that we don't have to pay the penalty, or wage for our sin.  Jesus paid the price on the cross in our place.   His death on the cross proved God's love for us (Romans 5:8), and He has now put us at the door of Heaven.  However, the key to that door is the final point.

The door of Heaven is opened when we realize that we are sinners, when we realize that Jesus died to pay for our sin, and when we accept Christ as our Savior.  You see, we can believe all of the above. However, if we fail to place our faith and trust in Him we are still on the outside looking in.  Jesus invites you to accept Him.  God's word says "...whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved..." (Romans 10:13).  It also says "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from they dead, thou shalt be saved.   For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)  The door of Heaven is not opened by who or what we are, or even by what we know.  It is opened by placing your faith and trust in Christ.

You can reserve your place in Heaven today, right where you are!  You have to believe all that you've read, then pray.  Ask God to forgive you of your sin, ask Him to save your soul, and ask Him to prepare a place for you in Heaven.  If you do that, and you mean it, the bible says God will do all that He said He would do.  You can rest assured tonight, knowing that your eternal destination is secured.

If you've accepted Christ today, we'd love to know about your decision.  Please send us a card or a letter informing us of your decision.  We will pray for you!  Also, we encourage you to find a solid, bible believing church in your area and grow in your new found relationship with Christ.
